A Semantic Web Service-based P2P Infrastructure for the Interoperability
of Medical Information Systems
As # 1 healthcare provider in Turkey, Tepe Teknoloji has been one of
the partners of the Artemis project.
Artemis is a FP 6 project, with a budget of 2.957.604 euros, which has
started at 1/1/2004.
The objective of the ARTEMIS project is to develop a semantic Web services
based interoperability framework for the health care domain.
The quantified specific objectives of the project are as follows:
• Providing interoperability of medical information systems through
semantically enriched Web Services
• Providing interoperability of Electronic Health Records through Web
Services
• Providing an integration environment for disparate applications both
within health care domain and with the organizations they communicate with
Tepe Teknoloji has taken place in this project as an experienced
healthcare IT solutions provider and aims to exploit Artemis
infrastructure for developing it’s next generation Corttex platform. By
providing integration between Artemis middleware and Corttex, Tepe
Teknoloji will add a whole new set of functionality to it’s Corttex
platform. The ability to use semantically enriched web services over P2P
networks will enable Corttex to be a much more efficient and flexible
healthcare solution.
Tepe Teknoloji’s standards compliance approach in Corttex platform is
also another valuable asset in Artemis project, since one of the main
goals of Artemis is to provide healthcare related functionality over
international standards. Corttex’s HL7 compatible structure provides a
suitable platform for Artemis integration, taking our standards
compatibility approach to next level, by using standards with web services
technologies. More information about Artemis project can be obtained
